As for the knives we receive from this craftsman, he will put the engraved logo well and deeply, so we are planning to use the style as shown in the photo for the inscription.

この職人さんから頂く包丁については、刻印ロゴをしっかりと深く入れて下さるので、銘は写真のようなスタイルでいこうと思っています。

 

Incidentally, this is of course the first time we have sharpened this powdered steel.

It is considerably harder than ordinary steel, but after careful sharpening from initial samples, we have managed to find that we can handle it with our own equipment.

As for the surface finish, we have not found any suggestions other than the simple style shown in the photo at this time, as it is a steel grade that is more difficult to handle than other steels.

ちなみにこの粉末鋼は、僕達が研ぐのはもちろん今回が初めてです。

一般的な鋼材よりもかなり硬度が高いのですが、初期サンプルから慎重に研ぎ進めた結果、何とか自社の設備でも対応できることがわかってきました。

表面仕上げについては、他の鋼材よりも何かと取扱いが難しい鋼種ということもあり、現時点では写真のようなシンプルなスタイル以外の案は見つけられていません。
