That parking lot was originally only large enough for two cars, so the only work area we were able to secure was “about 1.5 car spaces,” leaving an aisle into the building.

その駐車場も元々車２台分の広さしかなかったので、作業場として確保できたのは、建物に入る通路を残した『車1.5台分くらいの広さ』のみです。

 

Waterless grinders have been in the building from before, but this is the only space where water-based sharpening can be done.

Once the circular whetstone used for rough grinding and the belt grinder* used for subsequent polishing are placed and the minimum space for safety is considered, nothing else can be set up anymore.
(* Two belts are installed as it is a double-wheeled type)

水を使わないグラインダー類は以前から建物内にありますが、水を使った研ぎが出来るのはこのスペースのみです。

荒砥ぎに使用する円砥と、その後の研磨に使うベルトグラインダー（※）を置き、安全のための最低限のスペースを考えると、これ以上何も設置できません。
（※ 両輪タイプなので２本のベルトを設置）
