We used motors that were available in our company, and we were able to obtain the same abrasive belts and the machines (idlers) needed to turn them that the craftsmen had taught us.

モーターは自社にあったものを使用し、研磨ベルトとそれを回すために必要な機械（アイドラ―）などは、職人さんから教えて頂いたのと同じものを手に入れることができました。

After installing them on this foundation, disassembling and reassembling them many times to make the position of the polishing belt at a height that facilitates knife sharpening, and cutting off unnecessary supporting parts, the machine was finally ready for operation.

The actual work was tackled by two staff members: craftsman A, who had been with the company for about a year at the time, and a female staff member who used to be a blacksmith and now designs and produces leather sheaths (the woman is not sharpening them now).

After that, craftsman B joined us, and now two men continue the sharpening process.

それらを実際にこの土台の上に設置し、研磨ベルトの位置が包丁を研ぎやすい高さになるように何度もバラしては組み替えたり、不要な支柱部分を切り落としたりして、ついに稼働ができるようになりました。

実際の作業は、当時は入社後約１年の職人Aと、以前は鍛冶職人をしていて、今は革の鞘をデザイン・製作してくれている女性スタッフの２人が取り組んでくれました（その女性は、今は研いでいません）。

その後は職人Bが加わり、現在は男性２人で研ぎの作業を続けてくれています。
