As for the way forward, we plan to receive several types of stainless steel double beveled knives in turn and test sharpen them according to their production plan.

Our sharpening equipment is mainly for carbon steel, so I am not sure how well we can process these knives, but we will continue to experiment with new tools depending on the situation.

And even if we were able to sharpen them ourselves, there is a great possibility that we would be limited in the number of products we could produce.

At that time, we would like to receive the sharpened products and consider making new products in the same style as before by devising our own surface finish, handle, sheath, etc. at the same time.

今後の進め方としては、先方の生産計画に合わせて数種類あるステンレス系鋼材の両刃包丁を順番に頂き、試し研ぎをさせて頂く予定です。

自社にある研ぎの設備は炭素鋼向けを主軸にしたものなので、これらの包丁をどの程度加工できるか分かりませんが、状況によって新たな道具を試したりしながら、試行錯誤していきたいと思います。

また、もし仮に自社で研ぐことが出来るようになったとしても、生産数に限りが出てくる可能性も大いにあり得ます。

その時は先方で研いで頂いた後のものを受け取り、表面仕上げや柄・鞘などを工夫して、これまでと同じスタイルでの新製品作りも並行して検討していきたいと思います。
