Collaboration with a new blacksmith (1)

This is a little different from the direction of our recent postings, but there is a possibility that we may collaborate with a new blacksmith in the future.

最近の投稿内容とは少し方向性が異なりますが、今後新たな鍛冶屋さんと協業させて頂く可能性が出てきました。

About three years ago, when I was considering the possibility of creating new knives as usual, I noticed “a long-established kitchen knife manufacturer.
I thought I would call once to explore the possibility of collaboration.

In fact, although we were in the same industry, we had no previous contact with each other, nor did we have any mutual acquaintances, so it was a ‘spur of the moment’ idea, to be honest.

I remember how nervous I was when I called them for the first time, thinking, “Of course, they don’t know anything about our company.

However, when I finally spoke with him, such nervousness was quickly blown away.

遡ること約３年前、いつものように新たな包丁づくりの可能性を検討していた際、『ある老舗の包丁メーカーさん』のことが気に留まりました。
協業の可能性を模索するため、『一度お電話をさせて頂いてみようか』と。

実は同じ業界とはいえそれまでの接点は一切なく、共通の知り合いがいた訳でもなかったので、『ふと思い立った』というのが正直なところです。

そんな状況ですから『当然自社のことは一切ご存じないであろう』と思いながら、初めてお電話をしたときには、とても緊張したことを覚えています。

しかしいざお話ししてみると、そんな緊張などすぐに吹き飛んでしまうようなことが起きました。
