Later, we were fortunate to have several new staff members who agreed with our company’s policies.
At the beginning, we had not yet made concrete plans to establish a new sharpening process, so we had them do the conventional work of “commissioning craftsmen to make products”.

その後、幸いにも自社の方針に賛同してくれるスタッフが数人、新たに働いてくれることになりました。
当初はまだ研ぎ工程の新設を具体的に計画していた訳ではなかったので、彼らには『職人さんに依頼して商品を作る』という従来の仕事をしてもらっていました。

The staff member who would later become the first sharpening craftsman at Konosuke initially worked on the development of new products together with young outside craftspeople who had just become independent.
Although the “Yamato Series” was subsequently launched, shipments were delayed due to the lack of a production system.
Perhaps because of this situation, when I mentioned that I would like to hire a craftsman to take on the sharpening process as Konosuke, ‘Then it would be quickest for me to take up the challenge, wouldn’t it?’ were the first words out of his mouth.
I could sense from his facial expression and the way he spoke that he was prepared to do so, so I decided to entrust it to him.

後に幸之祐での研ぎ職人第一号となるスタッフは、当初は独立して間もない外部の若手職人とともに新商品の開発に取り組んでいました。
その後『大和シリーズ』の発売に至るものの、生産体制が整わず出荷が滞ってしまいました。
そのような状況もあってか、『今後は幸之祐として研ぎの工程にチャレンジすべく、職人を採用していきたい』という話をしたとき『それならば、僕がチャレンジするのが一番早いですよね?』という言葉が彼の口から発せられました。
彼の表情や話しぶりから、それなりの覚悟を感じとることができたので、彼にかけてみることにしました。
