Now, in order to ship the knives, we are waiting for the leather sheath to be completed to be paired with them for shipment.

今では包丁を出荷するために、それらとペアで出荷する革サヤの完成を待つ、という状況になりました。

To ship these knives smoothly, and to realize the “great potential” that I fell in love with when the design of this leather sheath was first completed, and that I felt at the time, “efficiently producing this leather sheath” is a major issue at the moment.

We are also aiming to sell this leather saya as a stand-alone product in the future, and will position it and our “knives sharpened in-house with attention to the forging process” as our main products.

Therefore, we decided to consider arranging for a cutting machine because the current method of cutting out leather sheath components one by one from leather with a cutter has its limitations.

それらの包丁をスムーズに出荷するためにも、またそもそもこの革サヤのデザインが完成したときに僕自身が惚れこみ、その時に感じた『大きな可能性』を現実のものとしていくためにも、『この革サヤを効率よく製作すること』が現時点での大きな課題です。

この革サヤは今後単体で販売することも目指し、『鍛造工程にもこだわり 自社で研ぎを施した包丁』とともにこれからの主力商品として位置付け、育てていきます。

そのため、現在のように革から一つひとつカッターで革サヤの部材を切り抜く方法では限界があるので、裁断機の手配を検討することにしました。
