もう一人の鍛冶屋さんは『包丁を製造して販売する』という従来の枠にはとどまらず、『日本の文化や体験の提供』といった、もっと広い分野での夢を語って下さりました。

This workshop is located in a much more tranquil area than other knife production areas, with a large site area, and both the spacious workshop and its surroundings seem to flow at a slower pace.

This blacksmith manufactures knives for export, of course, but in the future, he would like to make it a facility that welcomes customers from overseas and allows them to “experience the production of kitchen knives.

There are few lodging facilities in the suburbs, but they have already prepared a “home that also serves as a facility for visitors to stay overnight,” and they are gradually renovating it themselves.

この工房は、他の包丁産地に比べてずっとのどかな場所にあって敷地面積も広く、ゆったりとした工房内もその周りの環境も、ゆっくりとした時間が流れているように感じます。

この職人さんは輸出用の包丁ももちろん製造しているのですが、将来的には海外からのお客さんをお迎えして『包丁の製造体験ができるような施設』にしたいと考えておられるとのことです。

郊外のため宿泊施設はほとんどないのですが、『来て頂いた方に泊まって頂けるような施設を兼ねたご自宅』もすでに準備され、少しずつ自分達でリノベーションを進めておられるとのことでした。
