Allocation of time between new product development and daily operations (1)

In accordance with the policies reported in the articles【No.105】–【No.119】, all employees have been working together toward the end of this month, the closing date of the annual accounts, to prepare for manufacturing and shipping.

In fact, for the past few weeks, both craftsmen A and B, who are usually engaged mainly in sharpening, have taken a break from sharpening to help us manufacture leather sheath.

This is because we have a large number of knives to ship this month in order to reach our sales goal for the current fiscal year, and many of these knives have been ordered in pairs with leather sheath.

By the way, back in January-February last year, a woman in charge of administration and a craftsman B joined the company.

While the senior staff taught the newcomers various tasks, several of us shared the work of my sister, who went on maternity leave in July (she is scheduled to return to work next month).

実はここ数週間の間、普段は研ぎをメインにこなしている職人Ａ・Ｂともに、一旦研ぎの作業をお休みして、革サヤの製造を手伝ってくれています。

というのも、今年度の売上目標達成の為には今月中に出荷すべき包丁が多数あり、それらの多くは革サヤとペアでのご注文を頂いているからです。

ところで、遡ること去年の１月～２月にかけて、事務担当の女性と職人Ｂが入社しました。

先輩が新人に色々と仕事を教える傍ら、その後の７月に産休に入った妹（来月には復帰予定）の仕事を、数人で分担してこなすという日々が続きました。
