In fact, on this visit to Himeji, I had stopped by another leather goods store, which happened to be operated by a tanner (a company that processes raw hides into leather in a non-rotting state) with a large factory.

I told them about our situation and consulted with them, and they agreed to show me around their factory, which is equipped with a hydraulic cutting machine.

There were three machines set up there, but they appeared to be used ones taken over from a business partner several years ago, and only one of them was currently in operation.

The cutting machine is not only used internally, but they have also started a rental service for outside parties.

The price was not very high, and the structure was very attractive to us, but it was not practical for us to commute to that location, which is more than 100 kilometers away, for an hour and a half each way for each of those operations, so we gave up on that proposal.

実は今回の姫路への訪問で、また別の革製品のショップに立ち寄っていたのですが、たまたまそこは大きな工場を持つタンナー（生の皮を腐らない状態の革に加工する業者）が運営している場所でした。

こちらの実情を伝えて相談させて頂いていると、油圧式裁断機の設置された併設の工場内に案内して頂けるということになりました。

そこには３台設置してあったのですが、数年前に取引先から引き取った中古品らしく、現在は１台だけが稼働しているとのこと。

その裁断機は社内で使用するだけでなく、外部の方へのレンタルサービスも開始されたとのことでした。

価格的にはそれほど高くなく、仕組みとしても弊社にとってはとても魅力的ではあったのですが、さすがに100キロ以上離れたその場所に、片道１時間半かけてその作業の度に通うことはあまり現実的ではなく、その提案については諦めていました。
