When I actually met him and showed him some of Konosuke’s products, he was particularly impressed with the quality of the finishing (sharpening).

実際にお会いして幸之祐の製品をいくつかお見せしたところ、特に仕上げ（研ぎ）の品質に感心して下さいました。

I was really grateful for the various evaluations I received not only over the phone but also after meeting in person, and I was truly grateful for the meetings.

This blacksmith was especially confident in the “pre-sharpening process,” so we concluded that it would be better to have him deliver a semi-finished product before sharpening, and then Konosuke would finish the rest of the process.

We considered various possibilities and made a simulation, and even visited him again one year later, but by then he had become extremely busy, and Konosuke’s sharpening craftsmen were still not ready to accept him.
Therefore, we could not proceed any further at this stage.

電話だけでなく実際にお会いしてからも色々とご評価頂き、本当に恐縮しっぱなしの打合せでした。

この職人さんは特に『研ぎ以前の工程』にこだわりを持っておられたので、『研ぐ前の半製品を納品して頂き、その後の工程を幸之祐側で仕上げる』という流れがいいのではないか、という結論になりました。

色んな可能性を考えてシミュレーションしつつ、さらにはその１年後にも再訪問させて頂いたのですが、その頃にはこの職人さんも超多忙になっておられたこと、また幸之祐側の研ぎ職人による受入体制も依然整っていなかったことから、この段階ではそれ以上話を進展させることはできませんでした。
