Improvement of manufacturing process (2)

Although we are eager to create something unprecedented, we have just started sharpening knives and making leather sheaths, so we are often stumped by the basics and are groping our way through everything we do.

今までにないものを生み出そうと意気込んではいるものの、包丁の研ぎも革鞘作りも初めたばかりのため、基礎的な部分でつまづくことも多く、何をするにも手探りという状況です。

 

As for the leather sheaths, thankfully, the volume of orders continues to increase, and has already exceeded the amount that a female craftsman C can handle on her own.

As more and more knives are shipped together after the leather sheath is completed and paired with it, it is becoming increasingly important to improve this manufacturing efficiency in order to move toward the lofty goals we have set for ourselves as a company.

The cutting machine introduced in 【No.127】 is, of course, one solution to this problem.

↑ Production in progress（製作途中の様子）

革鞘については、ありがたいことに受注量がどんどん増え続け、女性の職人Ｃが一人でこなせる量を早くも上回っています。

革鞘が完成してから、それとペアになる包丁を一緒に出荷することが増えてきているので、会社として掲げた高い目標に向かって進むためには、この製造効率を高める重要性がどんどん高まってきています。

【No.127】でご紹介した裁断機は、もちろんこの課題を解決するための一案です。
