We were told that this Kiriko workshop has made various efforts to differentiate itself from other companies and individual artists.

For example, they replaced the grinder’s grinding wheel with a diamond grinding wheel, which is expensive and difficult for individuals to afford, although its high cutting performance considerably improves work efficiency.

They also have devised a way to dramatically improve the techniques of each process by having separate craftsmen in charge of each process of applying several types of patterns.
(This concept is similar to how Sakai knives came to be made under the division of labor.)

Incidentally, since it is a high-end product with a selling price of around 40,000 yen, there are very few Japanese who buy it for personal use.
(This situation is also very similar to that of Sakai knives)

However, there have been orders from bars that are particular about the atmosphere, requests from major local companies as gifts, and even a gift to the heads of state at the G20 Osaka Summit as a state guest gift.

His sincere and careful approach to craftsmanship, as well as his human nature, which he never boasts about despite his spectacular career, is truly wonderful and makes me want to follow his example.

しかし、雰囲気にこだわるバーからの注文があったり、贈答品として地元の大手企業からの依頼があったり、さらにはG20大阪サミットで国賓贈答品として各国首脳へ贈答されたりしたそうです。

真摯で丁寧なモノづくりへの姿勢はもちろん、華々しい経歴があるにも関わらず、それを全く自慢されることのないこの職人さんの人間性は本当に素晴らしく、お手本にさせて頂きたいと思わせて下さる方でした。
