The circular whetstone we were using before the replacement was the so-called \u201cSakai standard\u201d wide type.<\/p>\n

After learning a lot from craftsmen in various parts of Japan, we felt that a type with a narrower width than the Sakai standard would be more beneficial, so we decided to try that in this roundabout.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the flanges, which are normally used repeatedly, were to be replaced with new ones accordingly.<\/p>\n

Rust-proofing was applied, bolts were installed, and installation in the \u201ctub\u201d was completed.<\/p>\n

The machine was idled for a few minutes to ensure safety, and then sharpening could be resumed without incident.<\/p>\n
