Tour of Osaka Traditional Crafts (1)<\/h2>\n

I am usually interested in exchanging information with manufacturing companies in various fields, regardless of the knife industry.
\nIn the midst of all this, I received an invitation through the Sakai Cutlery Associations to participate in a tour of the production area organized by the \u201cOsaka Traditional Crafts Industry Promotion Council\u201d and decided to attend.<\/p>\n

The first company was a manufacturer of prayer beads.
\nThis company has been in business for about 160 years, and although I thought our company (90 years old) was one of the oldest, it is nothing compared to that.<\/p>\n

It was heartening to see how the company continues to make beads, a very traditional product, by hand in a magnificent building in the center of Osaka City.<\/p>\n

Although most of the processes are done by hand, the twisting of threads and making tassels are being mechanized, and the precision of the machines was also remarkable.<\/p>\n

His son, who is now the ninth generation, used to work for Toyota Motor Corporation, and he is using his experience there to improve the company.
