Looking back on my life to date, there are many things that I have been able to do relatively well and others that I have not been able to do depending on the situation, but I have found one thing that I was definitely not able to do.<\/p>\n
It is to ‘clarify expectations’ to the other party.<\/p>\n
When I was younger and moving around as a person in charge, I was desperate to ‘just get the job done.<\/p>\n
Even after the number of staff members increased and I was in a position to delegate work to others, for a while I just thought, ‘It would be faster if I did it myself,’ and at first it was difficult for me to delegate work.<\/p>\n
In recent years, I felt I was finally able to do that, but still, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.<\/p>\n
Looking back on the times when things didn’t work out, I realized that in the end all I was doing was ‘asking them to do their individual jobs.<\/p>\n
To ‘clarify expectations’ means to commission not only individual tasks, but also to ‘achieve what lies beyond’ through them.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it is not a matter of ‘asking for a job,’ but of ‘relying on the other party.<\/p>\n
By making expectations clear, I feel that I am simultaneously delivering the message, ‘I believe you are capable of achieving this.<\/p>\n
After recognizing this, it actually happened that ‘the other party’s movement changed dramatically’ because of a slight difference in the way I said it.<\/p>\n
