Cutting out leather sheaths<\/h2>\n

As we reported in our articles up to yesterday, with conventional saya becoming increasingly difficult to arrange (and with pinless saya still in need of improvement), we are introducing leather sheath to dealers who have ordered knives from us.<\/p>\n

This is a different version than the one we previously posted on Instagram, but we have received more orders than expected for the current version and have been unable to immediately catch up with production.

In making these sheaths, we start by purchasing our own leather materials.
\nThere is a possibility that we may outsource manufacturing to partner factories in the future, but we would like to stick to in-house manufacturing as much as possible.<\/p>\n

Frankly speaking, given our inexperience in manufacturing leather products, we believe there are still many ways to improve manufacturing efficiency.
\nParticularly time-consuming is the initial \u201ccut-out\u201d process.<\/p>\n

The first step is to take a frame using a pattern made to match the outline of the finished product, and then cut it out with a cutter along the lines. Even with cardboard, the framing process for several dozen pieces can quickly become saggy.<\/p>\n

We believe that the first step toward greater efficiency is the use of die-cutters and presses.
\nWe would like to find facilities for this purpose in the future.<\/p>\n
